What is an alcohol interlock?
An alcohol interlock device is an electronic breath testing device connected to the ignition of a vehicle. The vehicle will not start unless the driver passes a breath test. It will not stop the car once in motion.
Easily mounted in the vehicle, Guardians WR3 Handset offers functionality that meets all Victorian Government legislation giving you peace of mind that your unit will operate as it should. Offering a breathaliser that you can choose where you have it installed and monitored and change the locations of such at your convenience, you are not tied to that service centre (within the Guardian network) unlike other interlock providers
Guardian Interlock Install
In order to install the Guardian Interlock into your vehicle you will need to bring to our workshop your Court Order and drivers licence. Installation takes about half a day and once the device is installed we provide training on a practice device and then with your vehicle, to ensure you are comfortable with using the interlock before leaving our premises.
Once the interlock is installed it is necessary for you to visit the workshop every 30 days to have activity monitored. This includes kilometres travelled and the number of times the device was used. This activity is stored by Guardian and sent to Court for the Judge to review at the removal hearing when it is decided if the device can be removed from your vehicle.
Our workshop is open from 7.30am and the last monitor takes place at 4.30pm. We are also open on Saturday morning from 9am and the last monitor takes place at 11.30am.
